Owen Duff – “One Word”

/

Further excellent songwriting from Owen Duff, “One Word” charms with a vibrant array of smooth brass and shimmering strings, pairing nicely with Duff’s serene yet melodically invigorating vocal showing. Among Duff’s more expansive productions thus far, following a variety of more folk-laden intimacies, “One Word” has me particularly excited for the upcoming album bed, out this fall. The “I need to hear that one word,” chorus entices replays with its ascending vocal enthusiasm, as does the string-laden “men and women,” bridge. “One Word” engages throughout with an effortless whimsy.

“One Word” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2021’ Spotify playlist.
