Henry Nowhere – “Wonder Why”

/

A hazy success from Henry Nowhere with warming ’90s nostalgia, “Wonder Why” is the artist’s latest release. The vocals grow from dreamy nonchalance during the initial verses, heightening emotively as the chugging guitars fade in favor of more pulsing, atmospheric layering. Aesthetically, I’m reminded fondly of The Radio Dept. and their knack for dreamy yet invigorating songs. A beautiful melodic shift, just past the two-minute mark, is enhanced further by acoustical flickering; the vocals glide into the central hook thereafter with a weightless charm. “Wonder Why” is a superb showing from Henry Nowhere.

“Wonder Why” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2021’ Spotify playlist.
