Blue Karma – “Empty Eyes”

///

A track that captivates with its psychedelic meshing of guitars and synths, Blue Karma‘s “Empty Eyes” comes via the new album Electric Retrograde. Brisk rhythms, a bursting bass line, and atmospheric synths creep forward immediately. “Every time I look into those eyes, I can’t find what’s inside,” the vocals let out amidst the synth-laden pulsations. The soaring vocal work around the 30-second mark combines with a twangy backing bounciness to easily hook, that particular vocal escalation re-emerging at points throughout, delightfully with each occurrence. A guitar emphasis past the two-minute mark shifts the track into a more rock-focused territory, adding further vigor into the excelling soundscape. “Empty Eyes” is enjoyably representative of the quality songwriting and hooky synth/guitar infusions throughout Electric Retrograde.
