Livingroom – “Keeping Time”

/

“Keeping Time” is a melodic rocker with playful guitars and a power-pop vocal charm, courtesy of Chicago-based band Livingroom. The track comes via recent album Don’t Shoot the Messenger!, which — per the band — is a statement on how relationships can assemble and fall apart just as fast, while also stressing that change starts with oneself. “Keeping Time” is nicely representative, the lyrics referring to “feeling better on my own,” amidst playful guitars and keys. The “I don’t love you,” refrain plays with a bright surf-pop yearning, the tender guitar solo past the one-minute mark following up enjoyably. “Keeping Time” is a fun, catchy track on an album full of similar quality.
