“Find Us (Beyond)” is a stirring collaboration from Y the Ghost (Jacoby Elliott), Elisa Giannina van den Berg, and Kate Northrop. Elliott’s lead vocals, alongside van den Berg’s backing vocals and guitar, are sweeping and majestic throughout. These elements are gorgeously by Northrop’s harp additions, first emerging just prior to the one-minute mark and signaling the start of brisker momentum. This textural build-up culminates in added percussion and playful guitar tones past the one-minute mark. The harmonious vocal layers combine with Northrop’s serene harp to provide an effervescent feeling throughout. “Find Us (Beyond)” is a thoroughly successful collaboration from these talented musicians.
The collaboration was born by Beyond Music, a music initiative co-founded by Tina Turner, wherein musicians annually work together on an album revolving around certain themes. This year, the theme was “Conflict.”
