Stel Furet – “33 1/2”

/

The opening track to Stel Furet‘s new EP, human nature machine, “33 1/2” speaks to the creeping-up feeling of aging amidst warming organs, twangy guitars, and Jenn Grinels’ melodic backing vocal reflections. Furet’s suave vocals, alongside Grinels’ lush backing, plays invitingly into the organ-laden burst approaching the two-minute mark. The bluesy, nostalgic feeling of the track makes for an inviting opener to this stellar EP, which resonates through the piano-forward closer “the mirror.” The vocal harmonizing shines again on the closer, with the piano-based backdrop further emphasizing Furet’s songwriting and stylistic versatility. human nature machine is abundant with quality songwriting and performances.
