The Reneaus – “How It Goes”

“How It Goes” is a new track from Nashville-based band The Reneaus. A hypnotic loop of alt-rock nostalgia opens; a metronome-like sound effect resonates amidst the twangy guitars. A sudden transition to vocals, conveying awakening emotions, kickstarts a consuming escalation. Quaint guitars take a backseat to a thumping rhythm section, as the vocals drive into the hook with a title-acknowledging remark. The two-minute mark onward charms with playful synth additions, in addition to a symphonic glow that steadily incorporates in the concluding minute. “How It Goes” features stirring songwriting throughout.

Per the band, “How It Goes” is “a song about fleeting instances of clarity.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2022’ Spotify playlist.
