Whispering Knights – “Night Grows”

Warwickshire-based act Whispering Knights show a stirring blend of rock and folk on their debut single “Night Grows.” The project, led by Olly Vert and Joshua Vizor, have been crafting their record, Alight for Midnight, since 2014, with its release now on the near horizon.

“Night Grows” casts a hypnotic appeal throughout, and immediately with the lingering guitar feedback interlacing with the lusher, quaint layering. “The colors will fade away as the night grows,” the vocals remark into the first rise, the infectiously concise guitar tones reflected visually in flashes within the accompanying music video. The track touts a strong nostalgic pull, intertwining familiar and comforting aspects of folk, rock, and power-pop.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2022’ Spotify playlist.
