Digital Carbs – “Daily Invocation”

/

Its stellar rock sound reminding of Radiohead’s anthemic efforts, “Daily Invocation” is a track from Digital Carbs, the project of Munich-based artist Johannes Rest. Coming from Digital Carbs’ debut album, Are We Taking It Slowly, “Daily Invocation” rides initially on trickling guitars (shades of “Weird Fishes / Arpeggi”) and culminates in a resonating rise rounding the one-minute mark, featuring an uptick in warming guitar distortion and emotive vocals.

The heavy-rock escalation thereafter plays grippingly amidst lyrics that yearn for an escapism, particularly centering around the “idea of lucid dreaming as a way to escape reality.” A lusher bridge swells into a satisfying final minute, channeling the earlier hard-rocking heights. “Daily Invocation” is a consuming rocker from Digital Carbs.
