Finest Wine – “Mr Flute Man”

/

A new track from Finest Wine, the Chicago-based project of multi-instrumentalist Nick Andreoli, “Mr Flute Man” entrances from the get-go. Suave vocals and twinkling keys, adorned by acoustical strums, build within a climactic initial introduction. The dual-vocal title-referencing refrain adds further to the mystique, enhanced by lush strings. Aesthetically, I’m fondly reminded of The Go-Betweens. An intriguing production that succeeds with its gripping melodic pull, “Mr Flute Man” is a success from Finest Wine.

Per the artist: “This song was inspired by a man who, each day, plays his flute from the mountain top in Boynton canyon in Sedona, Arizona. During his journey to the mountain top, he passes out hand-carved heart-shaped red rocks to all the people he passes.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2022’ Spotify playlist.
