Histo is a Madison, Wisconsin-based project founded by multi-instrumentalist Don Curtis, alongside longtime friend and musician Joe Galloro. Histo’s new album, JGDC, releases on September 16th, and is preceded by the consuming track “Another Half Lives.”
Lush guitar twangs and a tender bass line complement a contemplative vocal presence initially, whose “all the while,” line marks an uptick in buzzing guitar distortion and ascending vocal emotion. Late-night brass injects amidst the hypnotic bass line, making for a very Twin Peaks-esque enchantment. “Another Half Lives” is a blissfully atmospheric production that showcases the project’s stellar songwriting and general aesthetic mystique.
