AJAY – “Swindlers”

Emitting a soulful nostalgia within a hazy psych-induced soundscape, “Swindlers” is a stellar track out today from Philadelphia-based artist AJAY.

“The song was written about my angst towards the music industry and the superficiality of the the industry’s gate-keepers and even sometimes the artists,” Ajay says.

Self-recorded and produced in the artist’s home, “Swindlers” expands quickly into fluttering synths and wordless vocal theatrics. Ajay’s smooth vocals play effortlessly amidst the chiming guitar tone rounding the first minute, traversing enjoyably into the glistening hook thereafter. “Swindlers” compels in its fusing of funk, soul, and psych-pop, resulting in another success from AJAY.

AJAY also tours with the artist Orion Sun.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2022’ Spotify playlist.
