Jackson Watson – “Feels Like Yesterday”

/

Showing a heartfelt vein of soulful pop, “Feels Like Yesterday” is a single released today from Jackson Watson, an artist born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. Impressing with the track “Eye Candy” last month, Watson continues his enamoring sound, influenced by Michael Jackson in addition to more modern pop acts.

“I knew I wanted this campfire-y feel to it,” Watson says of the track’s production. “I wanted the acoustic guitar to be the central instrument. This song was heavily inspired by Prince’s “Take Me With U” from his album Purple Rain.”

“Ultimately, “Feels Like Yesterday” is about accepting the fact that you and someone else may not have a future together but the past will always be something to appreciate and remember.”

Watson’s sophomore album Numb releases on October 21st.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2022’ Spotify playlist.
