Morning Silk – “Under The Light”

A gorgeously lush intertwining of dream-pop and psychedelia, “Under The Light” is the opener on Morning Silk‘s self-titled EP. The NY-based project of Frank Corr has enamored in the past with fellow EP tracks like “Don’t Try Hard Enough” and “Skin,” and with “Under The Light” showcases a continuation of his spellbinding pop songwriting.

Bustling bass and prancing synths compel alongside a lushly contemplative vocal tone, reminding tonally of Toro y Moi. “All you need is light and speed,” the vocals let out during the rise, culminating in a gorgeously entrancing hook with plucky guitars and soaring vocals. “I just wanna stay under the light.” Morning Silk continues the project’s knack for songwriting and production that becomes stuck in one’s head.
