Patty & The Oh’s – “Useless Love”

/

“Useless Love” is a jangly, nostalgic charmer from Patty & The Oh’s. Shimmering guitars and Patrick Weatherly’s heartfelt vocals build to the enamoring “what comes and goes,” hook — breezy and replay-inducing with its pulsing melodic whimsy. Dune Butler’s Stylophone adds a hooky, recurring melodic component during the central hook.

The psych-friendly “don’t pretend,” drop lends a hypnotic edge that plays excellently, before returning with the quaintly effective jangle-pop enthusing. “Useless Love” is a fun, resonating success from Patty & The Oh’s.

The band comprises North Alabama-based songwriter/singer Patrick Weatherly and Seattle-based musicians Dune Butler, William Mapp, and Charles Wicklander. Look out for their upcoming album, Out of Everything.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2022’ Spotify playlist.
