Tired Cossack – “Lilac Pain”

/

First catching our ears with “Pea Roll Along” last year, Winnipeg-based artist Tired Cossack further showcases their spirited rock sound with the riveting new single “Lilac Pain.”

The expressive guitar tones grow steadily from fragmented murmurs into a bass-laden progression with twangy beauty. As the textures swell with lovely guitar distortion, the lush vocal presence emerges with a dose of warming ’90s nostalgia. “I’m hanging on,” the vocals repeat during a particularly gripping sequence, driving to a bass-heavy momentum in the second half that evolves into further distortion-friendly and nostalgia-heavy allure.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2022’ Spotify playlist.
