The third single from Sydney-based artist Harry Klein, “Accelerate” struts an engrossing electronic sound with creatively infectious qualities. Embracing a darkly atmospheric brand of pop and dance, Klein’s solo material follows his previous work in disbanded jazztronica duo F00L.

Along with the tracks “Running Out of Time” and “Cut & Dirty,” “Accelerate” is a peek at Klein’s upcoming, 14-track debut album, And Then There Was None — set to be released early next year. Per Klein, the track is “ignited by thoughts on the theory of Accelerationism.”

“Accelerate” builds climactically, as a title-touting vocal refrain hooks alongside quaint synth frequencies and eventual bass prominence. “Can’t believe you are alone,” the vocals let out during a particularly captivating section, where a more bustling rhythm section and pulsing keys intertwine with amped vocal exhilaration. The stylish and intriguingly infectious “Accelerate” is a standout from Harry Klein.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2022’ Spotify playlist.
