Berlin-based artist Lump200 touts a strongly idiosyncratic sound on the new single “Kryptomarch.” Bouncy percussive pulses and jazzy key flourishes craft atmospheric intrigue with free-flowing charisma, escalating in textural fuzz past the first minute. Sounding like a thrilling melding of field music with art-pop and electronica, “Kryptomarch” showcases the creative talents of Lump200 in both production and concept.

The release represents the first single from the project’s upcoming fifth album, Isles of You, releasing with the social-audio web-app islesofyou. The creative releases proves apt for the app’s concept, which strives to provide collaboration in stimulating forms: “Every project starts with a piece of time (image and sound matrix) on which users can easily record and publish their own audio contributions, voice, music, whatever sounds.”

Look for the app’s beta version to release with the second single in February 2023.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2022’ Spotify playlist.
