The Lylacs + Francis Blume – “Heaven”

/

Los Angeles-based The Lylacs reveal a tender rock sound throughout “Heaven,” described as “a song about the quiet beauty that resides within.” The release represents the first of six singles in collaboration with singer Francis Blume and producer Jon Joseph (Borns, Mini Trees, Gothic Tropic).

Melancholic guitar twangs complement a yearning vocal tone, captivating with lyrics reflecting the exciting and daunting feelings of meeting someone new, specifically the “desire to share that inner world rather than disguise it.” Blume’s vocals balance a lush quaintness and heart-aching escalation; the “heaven’s alone,” segment plays with a stellar contrasting effect from the more subdued verses. I’m looking forward to the next five singles from this talented collaborative team.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2022’ Spotify playlist.
