The Neon Sea – “As I Wonder”

/

The debut single from Dublin-based band The Neon Sea, “As I Wonder” ponders “space, time, and existence itself,” within a hypnotic sound that reminds fondly of The Stone Roses.

Formed in 2022 by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Tom Doyle, the band compel throughout “As I Wonder” — swelling from quaint guitar jangles into an anthemic expansion, appearing intermittently through with cohesive production. The dreamy, ruminating verses drive into a ghostly, invigorating rise, full of serene textural charm.

“As I Wonder” was produced and recorded by band member Dave Flood (Drums, Harmonies, Bass) in The Open Studio, Dublin, Ireland. Alex Wharton (Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine) mastered the release at Abbey Road Studios in London.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2023’ Spotify playlist.
