Tim Barr – “No More Fathers”

//

Exuding a soaring and jangly charm with shades of The Stone Roses, “No More Fathers” is a resonating new single from Tim Barr, an artist based in Newburgh, NY. The initial ascent is swift; glistening guitars and harmonious vocal layers glide into a vibrant hook within the first minute. The momentum builds throughout, with the “searching for you,” expansion at mid-point stirring into a rousing guitar emphasis with blaring appeal. A thunderous, anthemic fervency assembles a stellar finale.

In addition to fronting the band Silverbird, Barr has played bass for Lana Del Rey. From 2016 to 2022, Barr worked as a firefighter in Manhattan and the South Bronx, taking a leave of absence in early 2022 to pursue music full time. The 5-song EP Son of Swords resulted, and includes “No More Fathers.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2023’ Spotify playlist.
