Stella Starfox – “Pass the Pass”

/

Suave guitar stylings and spacey synth additions dazzle on “Pass the Pass,” the latest from Stella Starfox. The integration of various key-laden tones enthuse amidst the expressive vocal layers and hypnotic guitar-based underlying. An enveloping backing synth approaching the one-minute turn adds climactically, with perky synths emerging thereafter alongside the caressing vocal layers. The final section enamors with a more effervescent, culminating character.

The band formed in 2018, at a Massachusetts college campus. Today, they continue to make waves in the Providence and Boston scenes, with a sound aptly described as “mystery pop.” Stella Starfox describe the track as “written about the comforts of returning to a state of balance after experiences in a period of instability.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2023’ Spotify playlist.
