Alex Lipinski – “Idiot Station”

/

Bristol-based artist Alex Lipinski struts a rollicking rock engagement on new single “Idiot Station,” blending psych-friendly guitar swells and an ardent sense of immediacy. The release follows a steady ascent for the artist, who recently signed to Marquee Records and wrapped up from supporting Marc Almond on his European tour. Now, “Idiot Station” is poised to continue that scorching-hot momentum.

Headlined by standout production from Michael Smith (Wolf Alice, Elvis Costello), “Idiot Station” showcases Lipinski’s glam-friendly inspirations, conjuring a meshing of past and present between ’70s art-rock and modern blues-tinged stompers. “Idiot Station” firmly blasts off at the two-minute turn, revealing spacey backing textures and blistering guitars for a psych-friendly spell. The track is further indication of Lipinski’s continued imminent rise.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2023’ Spotify playlist.
