Linuss – “Crazy Eyes”

/

“Crazy Eyes” is a dreamy pop earworm from Los Angeles-based artist Linuss. A hazy synth pad effervescence builds alongside playful percussion, joined shortly thereafter by calming guitar-laden dreaminess. The production and vocal delivery here reminds fondly of Damon Albarn, in tone, and the subsequent drive into a satiating hook furthers the captivation. The “I didn’t know,” vocal pleading and glistening guitars assemble for a bright, replay-inducing appeal.

“Crazy Eyes” is another success from Linuss, impressing previously with “Pop Rocks” and “In My Room.”

Linuss elaborates on the track’s fun narrative:

“It tells the story of a woman who burns down her sister’s house wearing a stolen wedding dress in a desperate drunken campaign to satiate her own jealousy. When I showed this song to an old friend, she asked me, “Who is this crazy b***?” Turns out she isn’t real, but maybe just a hyperbolic analogy for jealous partners I’ve had in the past.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2023’ Spotify playlist.
