milkspiller – “Wage Theft”

/

Philadelphia-based act milkspiller kick off their debut EP with “Wage Theft,” gripping with a confident rock sound that swells into whirring, invigorating distortion and anthemic vocals.

Erin Taylor’s dynamic vocals balance dreamy immersion and soaring captivation throughout, the latter being first evident following the one-minute turn. The moody guitar twangs and culminating passion show shades of Sleater-Kinney, The Wrens, and other ’90s alt-rock favorites. “Wage Theft” and the preserver EP in general showcase a strong sound from milkspiller.
