Becky Krill & Arlen Hart Ginsburg – “Laying Under a Tree”

Brooklyn-based artists Becky Krill and Arlen Hart Ginsburg team up on the amiable new single “Laying Under A Tree,” recorded in the old Tin Pan Alley blocks of Manhattan. Their first collaboration, the track provides “a duet reimagining the story of Adam & Eve, except this time deciding not to eat the apple.”

Krill’s melodic lead and Ginsburg’s understated reflections intertwine for a glowing aesthetic. Brassy flourishes and playful piano surround vocals that emit “it’s just you and me, laying under a tree,” — strutting an adoring, caressing sound into throwback orchestration in the final minute. The track is an easy-going treat from Ginsburg and Krill.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2023’ Spotify playlist.
