Ellisa Sun – “Stupid Little Things”

/

A mellow, soulful pop production leads “Stupid Little Things,” an emotive success of a track from Nashville-based artist Ellisa Sun. “I wrote ‘Stupid Little Things’ in the summer of 2021, after the hardest breakup of my life,” Sun explains. “It’s about missing those small moments with someone who was not just your partner, but your best friend.”

The “I think I grew a little more than you,” vocal introspection immerses alongside soulful guitar twangs and an underlying acoustic shuffling, with the “have to get used to,” melancholic acknowledgement playing beautifully — feeling like a gorgeous piece of moving-on balladry into the “how I couldn’t sleep,” vibrancy and “I still love you,” admittances. “Stupid Little Things” is a moving piece of songwriting from Ellisa Sun.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2023’ Spotify playlist.
