Cameron Sonnier – “Burning To Death”

/

Explorations of negative karma mesh with a dreamy pop allure on new single “Burning To Death,” representing the second single from Cameron Sonnier‘s sophomore album Synchronicity. The Houston-based artist describes the effort as “about negative karma associated with aligning oneself to things not meant for us.” “Burning To Death” follows up previous single “Anytime,” featured last month.

“Burning To Death” kicks off with an effervescent swell as Sonnier’s soaring vocals emerge. A glistening textural engrossment takes firm hold, as buzzing guitar tones complement an ardent vocal shift approaching the one-minute turn. The title-touting sequence is gorgeous, assembling a warming distorted undercurrent with hypnotic percussion and a twinkling synth-touched assortment. “Burning To Death” represents another success from Sonier, whose upcoming album we’re firmly anticipating.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
