Baby Combat – “Deeper We Fall”

/

A hypnotic rock lushness compels amidst twangy guitars and heartfelt vocals on “Deeper We Fall,” a new track from Baby Combat, the Portland, OR-based project of Noel Yeo (Supersloth, Shelves). The release marks Baby Combat’s newest collaboration with Rachel Tan (Telekura, Lost Weekend), who is also on the tracks “Ten Times Fold” and “Edna’s Got a Pistol.”

The lead song from Baby Combat’s upcoming EP, “Deeper We Fall” develops with climactic appeal as vocals inquire “what went wrong,” into a crisp guitar-based resonance past the one-minute turn. Fuzzier guitar inclinations grip past the three-minute mark, as dreamy vocal spells intertwine for a gently absorbing hypnotism into the satiating conclusion. “Deeper We Fall” is a thorough success from Baby Combat and Rachel Tan.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
