Dejima – “Nothing To Run From”

/

A psychedelic, melodic appeal is evident throughout “Nothing To Run From,” the latest from Dejima, who caught our ears with the single “It Was Nice To Have Met You” last month. “Nothing To Run From” marks the final song from upcoming EP Swollen, out on April 18th.

The project of Kaveh Hodjat continues to excel with a moody intrigue, kickstarted here by a hazy synth undercurrent and twangy guitar hypnotics. Wordless vocals add a nighttime surf-y nostalgia, traversing into the smooth lead. Temptations to “keep on running,” are conveyed lyrically, consistent within the upcoming EP’s thematic aims — regarding the strength of self, told via the allegory of two runners. After these two sturdy success, we continue to anticipate Swollen.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
