Every Thing The Light Touches – “Animal”

/

A delicately evolving, emotively impactful new single from Dublin-based project Every Thing The Light Touches, “Animal” weaves lush piano and heartfelt strings with a powerful vocal presence.

Musician, composer, and songwriter Danny Forde leads the project and impresses with its songwriting — culminating into the carpe-diem “be the animal you want to be,” ethos as soaring vocals converge, including the additional voice of Swedish jazz singer/songwriter Linnéa Lundgren. Additional players include New York-based guitarist and singer Lau Noah and drummer Dylan Lynch (Soda Blonde, Little Green Cars). Mike Cave mixed the track.

“You only get one chance,” the converging vocals powerfully convey as climactic percussion weaves into stirring strings. The interchanging vocals then shift into a serene array of acoustic guitars and chiming piano, as a tender vocal concludes with satiating effect. The track’s art-folk and chamber-pop intertwining proves riveting, marking a surefire success from Every Thing The Light Touches.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
