HATS TM – “last stop”

/

Evolving from debonair intrigue into a riveting, theatrical expanse, “last stop” is a strongly memorable debut single from HATS TM. The Reading, UK-based artist presents a climactic appeal throughout, evolving seamlessly from sparser late-night introspection into a memorably emotive vibrancy. The bass-fronted initial verses find gradual accompaniment in shimmering guitar dreaminess, arising eventually into dreamy vocal soothing and a fantastic central chorus — “there’s nothing but warmth…”

Initially a member of the band Vienna Ditto, HATS TM marks a new evolution for the talented artist. The title-referencing haunts at the four-minute turn is especially mesmerizing, traversing into a final “feel a chill,” infectiousness. At points fondly reminiscent of Black Box Recorder with its fulfilling vocal expansion and trip-hop touches, “last stop” is a captivating debut track from HATS TM.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
