Purple Stone – “A Little Something”

/

Stockholm-based duo Purple Stone show well on their new single “A Little Something,” expanding from quaint rainy-day introspection into a serenely melodic pop entrancement. The duo of Johan Hansson and David Skog impress with a sound steeped in dreamy soundscapes and lyrical introspection, impressing since their full-length debut released in 2022. “A Little Something” continues their strong run.

Raindrops fall gently as ruminating acoustics and reflective guitar twangs traverse into a crisp percussive accompaniment; “A Little Something” commences with a brisk, approachable immersion. A caressing vocal entry follows, constructing a dreamily introspective spell while urging to “take a moment here now.” Glistening guitar additions enter alongside a lush vocal layering, culminating enjoyably from the initial rainy-day contemplation. “A Little Something” is an atmospherically subdued yet strongly melodic success from Purple Stone.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
