Warren Dunes – “Inspiration Blues”

/

Capturing the tidal-like journey of creating art, “Inspiration Blues” emits the ebbs and flows of artistry within an array of dreamy vocal affections and twangy guitar listening. The track is a sturdy success from Warren Dunes, a Seattle-based band led by keyboardist/vocalist Julia Massey. Whistling adornments lend to the ethereal vibe — “sitting in a room,” as one ruminates their next move. Glistening piano additions combine with wordless vocals for an especially moving second half, succeeding in a soundscape that encourages meditative contemplation and the fruitful creations that follow.

Massey elaborates further:

“Every creator experiences ebbs and flows in their process. Sometimes the boat is stuck in a harbor, sometimes it gets caught in a gnarly storm, and sometimes it’s going with the flow. In Inspiration Blues, I pictured myself going through all of those changes, and always finding sunshine within the journey, eventually.

I hope this song gives anyone experiencing a difficult time creating their work a reminder that there will be big skies again.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
