LANNDS – “Hold My Place” + “If the Door Closes”

/

The new EP from Los Angeles-based project LANNDS, If The Door Closes immerses with its lushly absorbing sound — atmospheric and melodically heady with a blend of electronica, trip-hop, and art-pop. Amongst its highlights, second single “Hold My Place” struts an absorbing late-night immersion, traversing from questioning vocal precision — “does it haunt you?” — into multi-layered vocal emotion and spine-tingling synth effervescence; the vocal harmonies and dreamy synths fully enthrall in the track’s midpoint, especially.

The equally captivating “If the Door Closes,” representing the EP’s third single, moves from tranquil ambience into a peppier rhythmic backing. Cut-up vocal feelings and serene piano captivate throughout, arising into a soulful expressiveness that intertwines with heightened, electronic vocal effects. The act again thoroughly impresses with “If the Door Closes,” which was “written in the desert and inspired by open landscapes.”
