Rob Alexander – “When I’m Gone (For George Michael)”

Led by rousing piano and orchestral additions, “When I’m Gone (For George Michael)” is a ballad by Rob Alexander. Specializing in a vein of Adult Contemporary emphasizing strong vocal emotion, the South Florida-based artist wrote the track the same day George Michael passed in 2016. Rob released his debut album, Long Road Coming Home, in 2018, and plans to release another album in early 2020. “When I’m Gone (For George Michael)” will have many fans of the genre anticipating that release. The track features numerous endearing moments. For example, a tender guitar solo emerges just past the two-minute mark, bridging nicely into the vocal reprisal. Overall, the ardent vocals, piano, guitars, and orchestral additions make for a consuming production.

This track is on the ‘Best of February 2018’ playlist.
