Shenanygans – “Count on Me”

/

Irish-Swiss-Polish quartet Shenanygans blend stirring vocal harmonies and a classic, starry-eyed rock/pop sound on new single “Count on Me.” A Beatles-esque charm shows in the production, which enamors in its yearning vocal presence and jangling guitar work. Shenanygans describe the effort as “about a past relationship which still lingers on and has a nostalgic feeling.” The track is a part of the upcoming album, On Monte Verita, out this spring.

Twangy guitars and three-part vocal harmonies co-exist with melodic entrancement throughout “Count on Me.” The vocals admit to “missing you,” while reflecting on past times. “If we ever meet again,” they continue, strutting a a finalized sense of dissolution, along with the past tense recollections. “I hope you know you still can count on me,” the vocals conclude with, lending a warming, bright demeanor with forward-thinking reassurances, as this delight from Shenanygans closes with satiating impact.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
