Nolan Garrett – “No Secrets”

//

“No Secrets” is a consuming track released today from Nolan Garrett, off his new EP what if. The repeating hook – “got no secrets, though I maybe lie,” – rides on an engrossing haze, propelled by twangy guitars, soft organs, and psych-friendly rhythms. It’s a blissfully hypnotic effort. Garrett was raised in Tacoma, Washington and departed in 2016 for Liverpool, UK, going on to attend the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. While there, he honed his DIY approach and dreamy aesthetic, infusing older influences with a modern shine. Garrett’s EP goes to show that there are still some quality releases coming out in 2018, even with only a few days left in the year.

“No Secrets” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush, Suave/Slacker, + Jangle-Rock.
