Nidam – “You Think It’s Like A Fire”

/

Entrancing brass and a smooth, lounge-y rhythm section accompany the striking croon of Danish artist Nidam on his debut track “You Think It’s Like A Fire,” exuding shades of Bryan Ferry. The soulful, multi-layered vocal effectiveness of the “you think it’s like a fire,” chorus also reminds fondly of The Style Council’s crooning sophisti-pop/soul hybrid. The track is Nidam’s debut as a solo artist, though he’s also presently the lead singer of Copenhagen-based noise-rockers Ring Them Bells. Nidam pursues a smoother pop sound here, with his vocals more an emphasis in addition to the hooky and melodic accompaniments, on this track featuring smooth brass and guitar stylings. Look for Nidam’s debut EP this summer, supported by a team of all-star musicians from Danish acts Chorus Grant and Cancer, in addition to producer Christian Heyman Zinckernagel.

“You Think It’s Like A Fire” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.
