Similar Kind – “Seasons”

/

“Seasons” is a brisk and hooky track off Faces & Places, the debut EP from Similar Kind. The act — hailing from Norwalk, CT — impress with a melodic, pop-forward vocal presence amidst a breezy series of concise guitars and lush synth work, like an amped-up TOPS. The “though seasons are changing you still drive me crazy,” hook upticks the track’s urgency just a bit, helping the effectiveness of the 02:10 interlude, where psych-friendly guitar and an all-out spacey feel provide some commendable variation before the hooky vocals emerge for a final go. “Seasons” is a very catchy success from an impressive EP, which can be streamed in full below:

“Seasons” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock.
