MOTO BANDIT – “KEANU: WEAPONIZED”

//

“KEANU: WEAPONIZED” is a briskly infectious jangle-rocker from MOTO BANDIT. As the vocals open, “skinny-dipping to the rhythm,” there’s an escalating guitar presence that jangles with hypnotic resonance. The build-up to the chorus, where the track retains a jangly spirit amidst a more warming presence thanks to the bass line and escalated guitars, is excellently done. The additional guitar lines in the final section does well in recapping the band’s contagiously reverberating sound, crossing ’80s jangle-pop and post-punk sentiments with modern charm, which I’m looking forward to hearing much more of.

“KEANU: WEAPONIZED” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
