Premiere: pantology – “False Step (Awol)”

/

Released today, “False Step (Awol)” is a consuming track from pantology. The effort traverses numerous genres in just over two minutes, with a funk-laden bass line being a constant. That particular bass ascends in beautiful from around 01:30, leading to a soaring synth tone — and a feel reminiscent of Flying Lotus. Glistening electronica, rhythmic funk, and hip-hop elements are audibly at play on “False Step (Awol),” the second single off of pantology’s forthcoming debut EP 2Q19. The track continues to develop the project’s themes, with a flight of escapism — its soundscapes evoking an altered world, propelled by non-sampled instrumentation and evolving textures.

“False Step (Awol)” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2019’ Spotify playlist.
