Forest Ray – “Black Pine”

/

Delightfully twangy rocker “Black Pine” is the latest from Forest Ray, the Seattle-based band who impressed with “Shadows” earlier this summer. Marking the third video single from Forest Ray’s upcoming album, “Black Pine” exemplifies the band’s strongly melodic songwriting and suave rock feel. It’s apt that much of the music video takes place on the road; the wandering guitar twangs and suave vocals echo a road-trip feeling, with its freely capricious legs spread out. “Were you there when I looked up at the stars?” the vocals ask alongside twinkling keys, joining seamlessly alongside the guitars. “Black Pine” is another stellar showing from Forest Ray, whose upcoming album I’m certainly anticipating.

“Black Pine” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
