MIHI NIHIL – “Falling Star”

/

The newest track from MIHI NIHIL, “Falling Star” conjures a feeling of sweet nostalgia, channeling a ’50s and ’60s spirit with a wordless backing vocal swoon, ballad-friendly key backing, and yearning guitar tones. The lead vocal impresses comfortably with a dream-pop feeling, reminding of Beach House. Certainly with the newly released, accompanied music video (above) directed by Stephen Gregory, the track would feel apt playing at The Roadhouse on Twin Peaks. The Los Angeles-based MIHI NIHIL (mee-kee nee-keel), named after the lead singer’s (Mihi Vox) college nickname, show a very strong sound here. I’m looking forward to hearing what’s next.

“Falling Star” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2021’ Spotify playlist.
