Ryan Fischer – “You’re so Sad”

“You’re So Sad” is a riveting rocker from Ryan Fischer‘s new album Commercials For Heaven. “You’re so sad, oh so sad,” Fischer lets out during the chorus, rising cohesively from chugging guitars in the verses. The backing vocal reflection and enthusiastic uptick reminds of the Stones, especially in the suave execution. The Vancouver-based singer/songwriter releases the track with a video (above) showing vintage surf clips, apt considering the track’s nostalgic pull with touches of surf-rock. Commercials for Heaven is abundant with showings of captivating rock-forward songwriting, with “You’re so Sad” being nicely representative.

Two cuts from the album, “About the Future” and “Good Morning, Early Warning,” were featured over the summer.
