Midwest Delusions – “Ice Cap”

/

The project of Los Angeles-based artist Ezra T. Duran-Garcia, Midwest Delusions impresses with “Ice Cap,” the closing track on his excellent new album Tentacle Grip. Wintry keys expands into enthrallingly hypnotic vocals and guitars. The murky, driving guitars and haunting vocal slyness reminds fondly of Deerhunter. “Should’ve stayed in bed,” the vocals shrug as the guitars envelop fully with a grungier tint. The track captivates with steady guitar-led atmospherics and aptly moody vocal stylings throughout, and similar goodness can be had throughout the album.
