Au Gres – “do you think we’re old enough”

/

A melodic single with twinkling synths and soothing acoustics, “do you think we’re old enough” comes from Au Gres, the Michigan-based project of singer/songwriter Josh Kemp. An initial assortment of synths and guitars evolves into a more minimalist, folk-forward acoustical accompaniment upon Kemp’s vocal emergence. Gradually, the track unfolds with melodic whimsy, especially upon the “hey I’m sorry for dreaming ’bout the future,” burst. The increasingly soaring vocals and sporadic meshing of guitars and synths makes for a pleasant, accessible production.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2022’ Spotify playlist.
