Lazy Daze – “High”

/

Meshing hooky surf-pop with post-punk appeal, “High” is an infectious new track from Los Angeles-based artist Lazy Daze. Playful guitar pulses accompany a dual vocal layering; the lead assumes a nonchalant, steady character, while the backing vocals exude a free-flowing surf-pop wordlessness. The vocals intermingle with captivating melodic charm, especially into the surf-fronted swaying of the chorus. A bridge past the three-minute mark finds an uptick in rock-forward ferocity, driving seamlessly back into the wordless surf-pop harmonizing. “High” is a delectably hooky track from Lazy Daze.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2022’ Spotify playlist.
