Smoke Chaser – “Highway One”

/

The hypnotic “Highway One” is the debut single from Smoke Chaser, a band from Santa Cruz, California. Described as “a celebration of Henry Miller and sex,” the track’s smooth-cruising vibe is propelled by dual-vocal sophistication and hazy guitar work.

The chorus’ feel-good proclamation — “Henry Miller says he’s gonna live again, if only to have a lot more sex,” — meshes aptly with the seductive guitar tones and breath-y vocal charms. The guitars expand into a spacious, jangly allure approaching the two-minute mark, culminating in the warming vocal layering and hazy guitars. Smoke Chaser compel throughout the tripped-out “Highway One.”
