The Plastic Cherries – “Lovers On The Run”

//

A twangy jubilation resonates throughout the affirming “Lovers On The Run,” a new single from The Plastic Cherries. This delightful throwback rocker recalls the likes of Carole King, Fleetwood Mac, and modern nostalgia-pop bringers like Tennis. Rollicking guitars and bouncy piano lead into suave vocal entrancement, telling of two lovers escaping from the “normies” and finding the place their hearts are finally free. The confident vocals build climactically throughout to the empowering chorus’ invigoration.

The project began as a recording duo based in Portland and Salt Lake City, comprising Shelby and Joseph Maddock. They have since expanded into a band, and perform regularly around the Salt Lake City area, in addition to occasional tours in the western United States.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2022’ Spotify playlist.

  1. Love this song! Got a chance to see this band live when passing through Salt Lake City and they are amazing. Check out the song “Sunshine Cassette”. That is my favorite song… until this one. It might be my new fave!
